October brought 13 members of Banshee together at 443MH. Coleen Jewell, Stoney Jackson, Jean Muir, Betty Hadden, Beryl Pearce, Iris Bailey, Vic Collis, Barb & Bernie Lahey, Veda Michell, Gord Synnuck, Al Brown and Paul Peacey.

A number of our group continue to have repeated skirmishes with the medical community including in addition to those noted in the September report we can add Edith Smith and Chris Dalley whose achievement of piloting every Sea King has caught up with him and he is seeking moving joint relief.

The gathering commenced with a buffet type lunch provided by the group, with additional goodies from individual members there was enough food to feed the attendees and most of 443’s Headquarters building!  Like the TD commercial says “443 OR likes this group”.  A little nostalgia (2010) we viewed a video of Naval Centennial Fleet Reviews, which bumped Jean Muir’s this was my life to our November meeting.

Banshee’s next gathering will be Thursday November 24th @ 443MH.  All attending are asked to bring an appy for that gathering.  Close on the heels of our November meet will be the Xmas Luncheon @ Glen Meadows Friday Dec. 2nd  assessments of $10.00 per member and $20.00 per guest with the chapter picking up the rest.  Your payment to entertainment by November 25th,SVP.

Al Brown advised that Canadian Naval Air would be represented on November 11th at Trafalgar Square by Ralph Moncrief and Bruce Bibert, names familiar to some of you long in the tooth folks.  Banshee will lay a wreath at the Sidney BC Cenotaph as has been our custom for the past number of years.

On the POC West front I am hearing very little from other chapters and folks west of the Great Lakes.  Should you know anyone out there that would like news of views to be posted with this communication on the CNAG website or would like to be added to my distribution list please advise by email to peaceypaul@shaw.ca .

For those of you interested in the ongoing saga of the new Maritime Helicopter and assorted facilities, preparation for the new facility at Pat Bay is underway, it appears to the untrained eye that the base is being prepared for the new hangar and combined facility with tons of soil removed replaced by tons of gravel a real beehive of activity.  The site is north of Bldg 11 (once the admin/mess/accommodations side of VU33).

As we approach Remembrance Day take a quiet moment for those that have gone before us.  Paul
